He was in Pearl Harbor when it was assaulted and his ship went down. He was then reassigned to the USS KUWISHAWEE and after the second war was finished, was positioned in Okinawa for around 15 years. I didn’t get the chance to meet my grandpa until 1966 and afterward just quickly as he was gone once more.
